Full Buck Moon in Capricorn: Confront Your Insecurities

Over the last couple of weeks, we had a couple of very challenging transits as Mars and Mercury travelled through Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn. Cancer, a sign that resonates deeply with the theme of safety and security, took me on a deep dive into the concept of confidence. Not your superficial “Do I look good?” version of confidence, but a more in-depth look at where (and how) insecurity shows up in my life.

And, I don’t think I am the only one.

Insights poured through me, helping me to see where subtle (but potent) insecurities derail my very best work. As I acknowledged these vulnerabilities, I challenged internalized assumptions about my potential.

As we approach the full moon this week, the theme of building a deeper sense of security from within magnifies.

The Full Buck Moon in Capricorn, happening on July 9th at 12:06 am ET, is a tricky full moon. With the Sun in Cancer opposing the moon in Capricorn, our need to self-nurture, and nurture those in our lives, falls opposite to the cardinal energy of the get-it-done Capricorn moon. Simultaneously, the moon snuggles up next to Pluto, the planet that showcases our shadow. Don’t be surprised if this full moon reveals  some secrets—helping you see where insecurity, rather than desire, has you saying yes when you really mean to say no.

Capricorn represents our ambition and drive towards excellence, especially as it relates to business and work.

This full moon packs a punch. And the very next day,  the Sun—who represents our identity and vital life force energy—moves into direct opposition with Pluto, too. This hard aspect has us continuing to look under the proverbial hood of our lives to find where we leak our energy and how we can realign and reconfigure to retain more of our vitality.

It’s essential to use this full moon to see where insecurity derails your very best effort, then decide to see things differently.

Fortunately, Uranus and Saturn are both in fire signs and continue their dance of support, while Neptune in Pisces trines the Sun in Cancer—an auspicious angle that furthers this cosmic assistance! So, even though we may need to stand up for ourselves, we’ll be able to channel our energy positively by staying focused on our spiritual centers. Especially if we constructively look at (and flip the switch on) where we internalize a sense of shame, embarrassment, inferiority, and lack.

You see, this full moon asks us to look at what we need to digest, so we can release what no longer serves us. Are you ready?

Here are some suggestions for how to make the most of this Full Buck Moon in Capricorn:

  1. Connect to your shadow. Tune into the side of yourself that you don’t readily see. Look at your desires and assess if they are true to you, or are they driven by shame based ambition? Check in with yourself and determine where and how insecurity shows up in your life.
  2. Spend time meditating on and connecting to the flow of ideas. A moon in driven Capricorn supported by powerhouse Pluto means you’re in a great place to get sh*t done.
  3. Tap into your spiritual side. Even though the moon is in Capricorn, tune into your spiritual side. Neptune is in a positive position to support this!
  4. Take stock of your structure. Assess the systems, organization, and processes in your life that allow you to do good work. What do you have in place, both internally and externally, that allow you to work on behalf of your most significant goals?

This is incredibly important work to do now. We must identify and honor what we need to release, especially as we enter the waning phase of the lunar cycle (and as we move toward the eclipses in August).

So, tell me: what insecurity is getting the best of you and your best work? Let me know in the comments. And better yet, what’s your strategy to overcome it?!

This resonates so strongly for me, and I’m so happy that the plans I’ve made for this weekend are perfectly in line with where this full moon will be supporting me.

I’ve made a lot of compromises in my relationship over the last 5 years which have come from a feeling of me not being good enough, and over the last month or so this situation has come to a head and I’ve had to face my insecurities head on and decide to deal with my fears, digging deep into finding out what I really want (not just what I feel my partner wants me to want) and speak my mind, and define and enforce my own boundaries.

I must ask the universe and my partner for what I want, or else how will they know to give it to me!
    xx

Snaps for Jade! I’m at the same place in my 4 year relationship. This post makes so much sense to me!

Hey Jade~ Yes, learning to ask for what we want is non-negotiable. Totally here, cheering you on, supporting you from a distance.

I think some of my biggest insecurities stem from acceptance and being liked by others both personally and professionally.

I hear you on this! I think this is where many of our insecurities stem from– the desire to be liked and accepted. And yet, isn’t so empowering to know that we can self-approve. Wishing you the absolute best. Please keep us posted as you sort this out.

I’m about to give birth to my 2nd child. It’s bringing up so many feelings of “am I enough?”

Wow~ Huge congratulations. So excited. Yes, you are enough. Keep us posted 🙂 Big hugs.

    Hi Jennifer,

I am very moved by this article!

I am letting go of the fear that holds me back from doing what I love: creating, inspiring, and helping others. For so long I have stifled my inner voice but I have now found how important her words are and what she has to say. I feel so inspired today by this full moon and the next chapter of my life. Just before I found your site, I wrote this on my blog about the full moon and manifesting potential:

I don’t have a lot of background or knowledge on lunar cycles yet but its something that highly intrigues me and inspires me to write and research.

Thank you for your wise words!

    xoxo,

    Kindred Kate

This moon has been super intense for me!! I’ve been feeling ALL the feels leading up to the full moon and today, I’m really being confronted with my feelings of unworthiness to earn for my work. Thankfully, I started reading “Money: A Love Story” last week and will continue to work through it today! I also started the Kundalini meditation for prosperity several days ago and have committed to it for the next 21 days. I break into tears every time I do the meditation, so I know I’m breaking through resistance and walls, which is just what I need so level up in my life and in my business

Thanks for this post and comment, Ashley! I know these feelings all too well. Patience, love and compassion. We are here for you, believing along the side of you, just how worthy you are.

This Full Moon is magic. Even though I feel emotional troubled with a lot of ups and downs, especially regarding my actual relationship, I was able to leave house for a few days and heading towards the Blue Mountains in Sydney. By myself, having two days for me, without plans or tv, just me and my thoughts. My insecurity are still with me but I feel strong being just on my own these days 🙂

    • jracioppi

Thank you for this honest and vulnerable share. I am with you, in heart, beside you on this journey. Please let us know how your journey goes. It sounds absolutely fabulous. 🙂

LOVE this Jennifer! I get so much from reading your blogs… I can’t wait to have you on the show!
