Leo Sun Sign

All eyes on you, love—just the way you like it. Or not. Truth is most Leos attract attention even though they often don’t want it! Like the sun is central to our solar system, Leos often find that others naturally orbit around them.

As a Leo, people are drawn to your innate warmth initially, but after spending any amount of time with you, it’s clear that you possess a special, golden quality that allows your friends to feel like you’ve got everything handled. This ability to make people feel safe and accepted is truly a gift—because it’s not until you’re trusted that you can lead from your lion heart.

Those with Leo star signs are wired a little differently than the rest of us. While our patriarchal traditions and systems have emphasized self-sacrifice and work, work, work, people born under the fifth sign of the zodiac absolutely must experience life from a place of creativity, self-expression, and straight-up fun.

That’s because Leo essence represents pure potential.

It’s the shaky breath an actor takes before marching onto the stage; the first spark of a bonfire in the middle of the woods; a seed that just began to crack around the edges; or an entire electrical grid in a major city. The power to capture and enrapture this matrix of multiple possibilities is a talent unique to you. When there are so many possibilities of how life could be, why settle for anything less than raw, all-encompassing joy?

It probably comes easily to you to step into a leadership role. In fact, you may even feel like your promotions aren’t totally in your control—you just seem to rise to the top. But leading people (and in places) you aren’t meant to can quickly tax your creativity and warmth, and can make you come off as self-aggrandizing or boastful. You’ll have to be extra precautious to ask yourself if this is a situation where you have rightfully earned your leadership, or if there’s someone out there better for the job. It may be hard to give up that spot on the panel or in the corner office, but the ability to acquiesce the spotlight to those most deserving is all part of your soul journey.

To reach your sun sign’s highest potential, you have to cultivate a fine-tuned sense of self-reflection. As a fixed fire sign, it may be particularly difficult for you to step down when needed, so be sure to give yourself a few days (or weeks) to really mull over your options. Develop an intuitive practice—perhaps through art journaling, writing, or another mode of creative self-expression—to discern where your leadership skills are most needed. Then tackle them with the full power of the lion that rules your spot in the sky. When you discover where to concentrate your light, you—and those around you—will truly shine.

Leo Rising Sign

With Leo as your rising sign, there’s no spotlight you won’t naturally drift toward. Not only are you comfortable with all eyes in your direction, you require it. And with good reason—people see you as a leader.

Your magnetism and natural charm make it easy for you to collect followers anywhere you go. People tend to reach for your warmth as a way to build up their own confidence. And, let’s face it, you don’t mind the ego-stroke either. As you grow into your own confidence, it’s important to remember to lead with integrity and morality, and to take a cue from your opposite sign, Aquarius, by learning to serve the collective good.

One way you can have a far-reaching impact is by putting your fun-loving nature to good use. You innately understand and respect the importance of fun and freedom. You have the power to show the rest of the world that even the toughest climb to the top is more bearable with a light-hearted attitude.

Leo Moon Sign

With Leo as your moon sign, you aren’t short on warmth and affection. More than that, you feel best when given the opportunity to project this generosity of spirit onto your environment.

When you find something or someone you love, you want to bring it all into the spotlight with you. There’s nothing you love more than showing your fans and followers who you’ve met, where you’ve been, or what fresh and colorful thing you’ve created. But while sharing can be fun, it’s important to build emotional resiliency around what brings your lion heart joy—even when no one is watching.

Go ahead and make fun and fulfilling art. Write those songs and screenplays, share those epic ideas. But remember to give yourself the space and time to channel your light into creative pursuits that fill you up even before you post it to Instagram.

Create, live a life of passion, show others how to have fun, and do it for yourself!
