The full moon in Gemini lights up the sky Saturday night, urging us to let go of the to-do list, and embrace freedom without constraint instead. Vitality and spontaneity lead us down new and adventurous roads tonight (if we choose to follow them). While there are times for detail oriented, task-related focuses; tonight is not one of them. Under this influence, we are better served by allowing space for inspiration to dance through our lives like a Joffrey Ballet rendition of The Nutcracker. So, save the chores for later!
A full moon in Gemini represents a need for mental stimulation. Curiosity and inquisitiveness become key attributes available to us under this influence. Whether we seek social experiences or want to bury our heads in intriguing books that fill our minds with interesting thoughts to ponder—tonight, we are likely to find ourselves highly-motivated by insights and future directed aspirations.
Remember, Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, influences our communication and how we think. Now is the time to keep your head, heart and ears open for fresh and different perspectives finding their way to you. With the sun in the adventurous sign of Sagittarius, conjunct Mercury and trining Uranus we can expect festivities, adventures, and unexpected messages invigorating our goals and visions as well. If all of this was not already enough, to top it off, the moon sextiles Uranus too. Uranus, the higher octave of Mercury, encourages radical breakthrough!
Expect electrifying insights, intuitions, and inspirations.
For the extroverted among us, this full moon screams p-a-r-t-y! For all of us introverts, we may just want to gather with our best friend and spend some time communicating about our visions for the new year near a quiet fire, or perhaps even alone with a book or journal. Regardless of how you spend tonight, make sure it is doing something that inspires you and allows you to communicate. Save the chores for when the moon moves into cancer on Sunday December 7th! At that time, we should all feel like bringing our attention out of the world of big ideas, back to our homes and families.
Take a step back so we can clearly see the bigger picture unfolding in our lives.
With the strong Sagittarius influence in the sky right now—the Sun, Mercury and Venus are all in Sag—this full moon helps formulate our visions. At the end of the month, task master Saturn—the planet that rules our karma, dharma and purpose—will kick off a two and a half year cycle in the sign of Sagittarius. Tonight provides fertile soil to inspire not just our visions for next year, but the entire Saturn in Sagittarius cycle about to begin in late December. Saturn moves out of Scorpio and into Sagittarius on December 23rd. While it will retrograde back into Scorpio for about 5 months in 2015, the first part of the new year should feel like totally different terrain than 2014. That said, tonight’s full moon may help us better understand our desires so we can orchestrate visions that integrate our deepest wants. Ladies, our visions are about to become the crucial currencies of our futures.
Forget Willpower, Embrace Want Power Instead
Whether your goals for the next chapter of your life involve literally traveling around the globe or metaphorically speaking exploring the world of ideas and philosophy, tonight we should all feel particularly excited about anything that speaks to the deeper calling of desire.
If you find yourself struggling to determine your desires allow the tonight’s breezy energy to awaken within you the deeper context of your longing. With the full moon in Gemini (a mutable air sign) connecting with the fluidity of ideas should jostle some forthcoming ideas and wants. Allow your mind to lead you to your wants. It’s our wants, after all, that have the potential to unlock with us passion for making the impossible possible.
Pay Attention to what still needs healing
On the challenging side, with sun and moon both squaring Chiron tonight, our childhood wounds may be up for evaluation and integration. If for whatever reason you feel misunderstood or triggered go within and explore your feelings. Likely you may be clearing through some old hurts and wounds that need to be addressed before we head into the new year. Should challenging emotions rise to the surface for you, take a time out for some journaling. Utilize the communicative aspects of tonight’s energy to your advantage and write through your worry. Get it out of your head and onto paper. From there you should find internal space for new desires to dwell. Help the old pains to move on with through free writing and expressing how you feel in the written word..
This is the last full moon of 2014.
Make it count. Allow this full moon to lead you exactly where you need to go. Take your hand off of the to do list, and see what awaits you on the other side of spontaneity. Let your hair down, have fun, and howl at that gorgeous bright light in the sky!
As always, I am deeply grateful to have you in my life. I send you all of my love.
Warmly,
Jenn
